Mobile Mechanic Service

What is a mobile mechanic?

A mobile mechanic brings automotive diagnostic equipment, tools, and repair service to your vehicle instead of requiring you to bring the vehicle to a traditional repair shop.

Where does Jimmy’s Mobile Care perform repairs?

We provide mobile automotive service in Daytona Beach, Daytona Beach Shores & South Daytona. The vehicle must be in a location where the work can be performed safely and legally.

Can you work on my vehicle at my home or workplace?

In many cases, yes. We can service vehicles at homes, workplaces, and other suitable locations when there is enough safe working space and the property owner or location permits vehicle repairs.

Do I need to have my vehicle towed to a shop?

Often, no. One of the main advantages of mobile service is that many diagnostic procedures and repairs can be completed where the vehicle is located. If a repair requires equipment or conditions that are not practical for mobile service, we will explain that before proceeding.

Does my vehicle have to run for you to service it?

No. We diagnose many no-start, battery, starter, charging, electrical, fuel, ignition, and related problems on vehicles that will not run.

Can you repair my vehicle on the side of the road?

It depends on the location and the repair. Safety comes first. Work cannot be performed where traffic, inadequate space, poor visibility, property restrictions, or other conditions make the repair unsafe.

What happens if it rains or there is severe weather?

Some work can be performed in light weather when conditions remain safe, but rain, lightning, extreme heat, flooding, or other conditions may require an appointment to be delayed or rescheduled.

Can you work in an apartment complex, parking garage, or HOA community?

Possibly. The property must allow automotive work and provide enough safe space. Customers should confirm any property, HOA, apartment, parking-garage, or workplace restrictions before the appointment.

What kinds of vehicles do you service?

Jimmy’s Mobile Care services many domestic, Asian, and European passenger cars, SUVs, and light-duty vehicles. Service availability depends on the vehicle, repair, required equipment, and access.

Are there repairs you do not perform mobile?

Yes. Some jobs require a lift, alignment rack, machine shop, specialized shop equipment, extensive disassembly, or working conditions that are not appropriate for mobile service. We will tell you when a repair should be handled at a properly equipped facility.

Diagnostics & Troubleshooting

Do you diagnose the vehicle before replacing parts?

Yes. When diagnosis is required, our approach is to test and verify the fault before recommending replacement. A trouble code, symptom, or previous recommendation does not automatically prove that a particular component has failed.

Does a check-engine-light code tell you which part to replace?

Not necessarily. A diagnostic trouble code identifies a system, circuit, operating condition, or detected fault. Testing may still be needed to determine whether the cause is a sensor, wiring problem, mechanical condition, vacuum or air leak, power or ground problem, control issue, or something else.

Will you install a part because another shop or parts store said it is bad?

We can review the information you were given, but when the repair depends on a diagnosis we may need to verify the fault ourselves before recommending or performing the repair. This helps avoid replacing a good part when another problem is responsible.

Do you diagnose intermittent problems?

Yes, but intermittent faults can require additional testing or more than one visit if the problem is not occurring during the appointment. We will explain what the available test results establish and what remains unconfirmed.

What if the vehicle is working normally when you arrive?

We can inspect available trouble codes, scan data, history, wiring, components, and other evidence as appropriate. If the symptom cannot be duplicated, we will not claim a failure has been proven when it has not.

Do you diagnose electrical problems?

Yes. Depending on the problem, electrical diagnosis can include checking power, grounds, voltage drop, circuits, connectors, sensors, actuators, communication networks, charging and starting systems, and scan-tool data.

Can you diagnose a no-start condition?

Yes. A no-start can involve the battery, cables, starter circuit, fuel delivery, ignition, engine-management sensors, security system, wiring, mechanical condition, or other causes. Testing is used to narrow down the actual fault.

Can you diagnose warning lights besides the check-engine light?

Yes. Depending on the vehicle and system, we can evaluate many ABS, charging, air-conditioning, engine, transmission-related, and other warning-light concerns. Some manufacturer-specific systems may require equipment or procedures beyond mobile service.

Do you perform pre-repair inspections before replacing expensive components?

Yes when appropriate. Expensive components should not be condemned solely because a code mentions them or because the symptom appears related. Supporting circuits, inputs, outputs, power, grounds, and related mechanical conditions may need to be checked first.

Estimates, Pricing & Authorization

Will I receive an estimate before repairs are performed?

Jimmy’s Mobile Care provides estimates and obtains authorization for repair work. Florida law also establishes written-estimate and disclosure requirements for covered motor vehicle repairs when the repair cost exceeds $150.

Can the repair price change after I approve the estimate?

If additional work or cost becomes necessary, we will contact you for authorization as required before proceeding. Florida law regulates charges that exceed a written repair estimate and requires customer authorization in covered situations.

Do you perform additional repairs without asking me?

Additional work outside the authorized repair is not simply added without customer authorization. If testing reveals another problem or the scope of the repair changes, we will explain the finding and obtain authorization as applicable before proceeding.

Do you charge for diagnostic work?

Diagnostic work is a professional service and may be charged separately from the repair. Any applicable diagnostic or estimate-related charge will be disclosed as part of the estimate or authorization process.

Do you charge shop-supply or hazardous-material fees?

When applicable, shop-supply or hazardous-material charges are disclosed on the estimate or repair documentation. These charges can cover consumable materials and disposal-related costs associated with performing the repair.

Will you beat another shop’s written estimate?

Jimmy’s Mobile Care will beat a current, verifiable written estimate for comparable repairs. The estimate must be issued by a registered motor vehicle repair facility or dealership and be for comparable parts, labor, and repairs.

Why does the competing estimate have to be verifiable?

The offer is intended to compare legitimate repair estimates on equivalent work. Verification helps confirm that the estimate was actually issued by the identified repair facility and that the parts, labor, and repair scope can be compared fairly.

Does the written-estimate offer apply if the parts or repair are different?

The comparison must be for comparable parts, labor, and repairs. An estimate using a different repair procedure, substantially different parts, incomplete labor, or a different scope of work may not be an equivalent estimate.

Will I know what I am approving?

Yes. The estimate or repair order identifies the work being authorized and the associated charges. If the repair changes materially, additional authorization may be required before the added work is performed.

Appointments & Preparing for Service

How do I schedule an appointment?

Call Jimmy’s Mobile Care at (386) 308-2509 to discuss the vehicle, symptoms, location, and service needed. We will determine the appropriate type of appointment and availability.

Do you guarantee an exact arrival time?

Mobile automotive work can be affected by traffic, weather, diagnostic complexity, parts availability, and the length of earlier repairs. We make reasonable scheduling efforts but do not describe every appointment as immediate or guaranteed fast service.

How long will my repair take?

Repair time depends on the vehicle, diagnosis, component location, condition of fasteners and surrounding parts, parts availability, and what is found once work begins. We can provide an expected timeframe when enough information is available.

Do I need to be present during the repair?

Not necessarily for every minute of the service, but we need authorized access to the vehicle and a reliable way to reach the person who can approve work. Payment and vehicle-access arrangements should be made before the appointment.

What should I do before the mechanic arrives?

Make sure the vehicle is accessible, remove anything that blocks the work area, provide the correct keys, and ensure there is enough safe space around the vehicle. If the vehicle is on private property you do not own, confirm that repairs are permitted there.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Contact us as soon as possible. Cancellation, teardown, reassembly, diagnostic, or other applicable charges depend on the work already authorized or performed and the terms provided with your repair documentation.

Parts & Replacement Components

What kind of replacement parts do you use?

Part selection depends on the vehicle, repair, availability, warranty, and customer needs. We can use appropriate new, remanufactured, rebuilt, or other replacement components when disclosed and suitable for the repair.

Can I supply my own parts?

Customer-supplied parts may be accepted for some repairs. Customer-supplied parts are not covered by Jimmy’s Mobile Care’s parts or labor warranty, and additional labor can apply if a supplied part is incorrect, defective, incomplete, or causes additional work.

Can I get my old parts back?

Tell us when authorizing the repair if you want replaced parts saved for inspection or return. Florida law provides rights concerning inspection or return of removed parts in covered circumstances, subject to warranty, core, or exchange arrangements.

Why might you recommend one brand of part instead of a cheaper one?

Fit, reliability, warranty support, design revisions, known application issues, and labor involved in replacing the component again can matter as much as initial part price. We can explain the reason for a recommendation before you authorize it.

What happens if the replacement part is defective?

Warranty handling depends on who supplied the part and the applicable manufacturer or supplier warranty. Contact us promptly if you believe a recently repaired system has developed a problem.

Warranty

What warranty does Jimmy’s Mobile Care provide?

Labor performed by Jimmy’s Mobile Care carries a 36-month/36,000-mile warranty, whichever occurs first, subject to the applicable repair terms and exclusions. Parts supplied by Jimmy’s Mobile Care carry the applicable manufacturer’s warranty.

Are customer-supplied parts covered by warranty?

No. Customer-supplied parts are not covered by Jimmy’s Mobile Care’s parts or labor warranty.

Does a repair warranty cover unrelated future problems?

No. A warranty applies to the covered repair under its stated terms. It does not guarantee against unrelated, pre-existing, intermittent, newly developing, or future vehicle problems.

What should I do if I think there is a problem with a recent repair?

Contact Jimmy’s Mobile Care before having another party alter the repaired system when reasonably possible. Explain the symptom and provide the repair information so the concern can be evaluated under the applicable warranty terms.

Payment, Documents & Customer Authorization

When is payment due?

Payment is due according to the terms on the estimate, repair order, or invoice. The applicable payment method and charges are disclosed as part of the repair process.

Do you accept credit or debit cards?

Available payment methods are disclosed during scheduling or on the repair documents. If a card-processing charge applies, it is disclosed as part of the payment terms.

Will I receive an invoice?

Yes. Upon completion of covered repair work, Florida law requires a legible repair invoice containing specified information, including an itemized description of labor and parts, the service performed, warranty information, and the repair shop registration number.

Why do I need to authorize the repair?

Authorization documents what work you agreed to and protects both the customer and the repair business. It also provides a clear point at which diagnostic work, repairs, parts, or additional work may proceed.

Can someone else authorize repairs for me?

A customer may designate another person to authorize repair work. If someone else will be making decisions for you, that arrangement should be identified as part of the repair authorization.

Air Conditioning Service

Do you service automotive air-conditioning systems?

Yes. Jimmy’s Mobile Care performs mobile A/C diagnostics and many A/C repairs, including testing system performance and servicing components that can be handled safely at the vehicle’s location.

Are you certified to handle automotive refrigerant?

Yes. Jimmy’s Mobile Care uses an EPA Section 609 Certified A/C Technician for motor-vehicle air-conditioning refrigerant service.

Can you just add refrigerant if my A/C is not cold?

Adding refrigerant is not automatically the correct repair. Poor cooling can result from a refrigerant leak, incorrect charge, compressor problem, condenser airflow issue, electrical fault, sensor problem, expansion device restriction, blower issue, or other cause. The system should be evaluated before assuming it only needs refrigerant.

Do you check for refrigerant leaks?

Yes. When a leak is suspected, the appropriate diagnostic approach depends on the system and condition. A recharge alone does not repair a refrigerant leak.

Can you replace an A/C compressor mobile?

Many compressor replacements can be performed mobile when the vehicle, system condition, work location, and required procedures make the repair appropriate for mobile service.

Safety, Test Drives & Repair Verification

Will you test-drive my vehicle?

A test drive may be needed before or after certain repairs to duplicate a concern, collect diagnostic information, verify operation, or confirm the repair. Customer authorization for an appropriate test drive is part of the service process.

What if you find the vehicle is unsafe to drive?

We will explain the condition and why continued operation may be unsafe. Some vehicles should not be driven until the problem is repaired or the vehicle is transported appropriately.

Do you verify the repair after replacing a component?

When practical, yes. Verification can include operating the system, checking scan data, clearing and rechecking applicable faults, inspecting for leaks, road testing, or performing other tests appropriate to the repair.

Does clearing a trouble code mean the vehicle is repaired?

No. Clearing a code only removes stored diagnostic information. A proper repair addresses the underlying cause and should be verified using appropriate testing or operating conditions.
